Hair Preparation:
Henna may be applied to damp or dry hair that is clean. Towel dry if needed. Apply cream or oil around the hairline, ears, and neck to avoiding staining the skin.
Henna Preparation:
Mix the henna with lukewarm water, approximately 104 degrees Fahrenheit, and stir to make a creamy paste.
Hair Application:
Wear plastic or rubber gloves to avoid staining the hands. 1. Separate hair into 1" thick sections. 2. Using a brush, begin at the scalp and paint paste onto hair from roots to ends. 3. Continue applying until all hair is thickly coated with the mixture. 4. Place a cotton or tissue band around the hairline. Cover hair with a shower cap, and let sit until desired color is achieved. 5. Rinse hair thoroughly with clean plain water. Allow to air dry.
Timing by Color:
Darker colors: Leave on for 60-90 minutes; Lighter colors: Leave on for 30-60 minutes.
Helpful Tools: Plastic or glass bowl; plastic or wooden spoon; oil or cream; plastic or rubber gloves; cotton or tissues; tint brush or 1.5" paint brush; plastic bag or plastic wrap; protective cape or old towel
Note: For external use only. Do not use around the eyes or on cut or abraded scalp. Keep out of reach of children. Not to be used for dyeing eyelashes or eyebrows. In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with water. Not suitable for temporary tattooing. Conduct a sensitivity test before using the product. Expiration Information: Henna does not "expire" in the sense that it will be damaging to the hair. However, it does become less potent over time. Henna should be stored in a sealed bag so that degradation of the product will take a longer time than if it was stored in a container in a warm place or in direct sunlight.
